With a background spanning various roles in healthcare, including nursing, education, supervision, and fundraising, I've witnessed firsthand the challenges many individuals face in maintaining an active lifestyle as they age or encounter health obstacles. It's a narrative I've seen play out far too often – a reduction in physical activity, a dwindling connection with nature, and a sense of limitation creeping in.

This observation coupled with the lack of tailored outdoor programs for older adults in the Duluth area that inspired me to establish Black Dog Kayak and SUP. Our mission is simple yet profound: Creating enriching, on-the-water experiences to explore Duluth, foster community, and cultivate a deeper appreciation for the outdoors and oneself.
